A City Briefing for new and old Liverymen

18 February 2009

News

Yesterday my wife and I attended a 'Briefings' programme for Liverymen, Freemen & their partners at Innholders Hall under the aegis of the City of London’s Livery Committee. It is primarily intended for new Freemen and Liverymen although those of longer standing who have not attended previously are welcome.

The meetings are held 8 times in a year and the business menu comprised a short film presentation and an excellent lecture by a senior official of the City Corporation, followed by questions.

The business side took just under 2 hours and was followed by a most delicious and imaginative finger buffet accompanied by wine etc.

I accept that many if not all our members have attended one of these Briefings, but if any have not and could make the time, I would strongly urge them to do so.

You meet interesting people in a conducive setting and listen to first class lectures followed by the refreshments.

Gill and I were delighted to be greeted by John Corp, one of those of long standing who had made the effort to attend.

I believe that John, Gil and I all thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and would heartily recommend it to any who have yet to attens.
