7th July 2023 - 9th July 2023
The Master and Mistress warmly invite you to accompany them on a visit to South Devon. The weekend will be based in Brixham – a picturesque harbourside town on South Devon’s beautiful English Riviera.
An interesting programme has been arranged and a highlight will be a day with Freeman William Barsley at his workshop near Dartington learning to carve a simple item. No prior carving experience is needed and under Will’s capable instruction, your skill and confidence will be built throughout the day.
Whilst liverymen are busy with a chisel, the Mistress will lead their partners on a visit to Dartmouth, taking in Greenaway House – the home of Agatha Christie – following a cruise up the River Dart.
Dinner has been arranged at celebrity chef Mitch Tonk’s restaurant Rockfish which features the freshest fish landed immediately below to Brixham Fish Market.
On Sunday morning, a boat has been chartered for a one hour Wildlife Seafari exploring the beautiful Devon coast, hoping to see cormorants, kittiwaks, gannets and even maybe seals or a pod of dolphins if we are lucky.

As places at Will’s workshop are limited, The Master has requested that only liverymen apply for a place on the woodcarving course in the first instance and partners accompany The Mistress in her party to Dartmouth.
